Boys
As Mon afternoon there is 8" north of 7A causeway but only 5" on the south side. At the entance to the Trail E108 the Argo broke though doing trail work south of 7A what we call the land trail behind Rona yard. Need more cold weather to be Safe. But bull rushes at the 7A crossing are all packed down to let the frost in. Brian

I was out off the tip of the island Dec 14 2007. Shoveled away the snow and drilled a few quick holes with the power auger. 10-11" along the shoreline and 9" a few hundred metres out (not right in the centre but fairly close)

Anyone know how all this rain has affected the ice on Lake Scugog?

How's the ice now? I see all the ice huts out there now but they usually are out with 3 inches of ice. Does anyone have an update on the ice conditions since our 2 day cold snap?

I talked to a few fisherman on New Year's Eve and they were saying 11 inches in the middle and 9 inches on shore.... The usual spots will still be of issue, so know them!!.... The warm spell will probably have some affect on the top layers of ice.... We will have to wait and see how we come out.

Any tips on what/where these "usual" spots are? I would like to know them, but it helps if someone tells me

This is something that would be pretty tough to do without actually taking you out and showing you Fox22. And even then, I my self still wouldn't feel comfortable telling someone whats safe and what isn't.

I have heard different reports on thicknesses, anywhere from 1" to still 9 inches. It was open 2-3 feet out along my shoreline on monday. Nobody has been on it that I can see. Might go out tonight to check out the new motor in the dragon.
