Indy 650 Speedo Quit Working
My Speedometer has decided to quit working on my 650. I know that this is the classic sign that the bearings on the clutch side are in need of replacing for the most part. I have never gotten into this type of work on the sled so my question is if this is the case and the bearings need to be replaced can I do so without tearing the whole suspension and track out. I have heard some people say that if you remove the speedo drive below the secondary you can get at the bearing to replace it. Is this true or not and how tough a job am I looking at? I am hoping it may be the cable due to the sled being 17 years old but have not done the diagnosis yet. When I had it out prior the problem I was hearing a slight whining noise when I first started moving and when I would slow down. Any help is appreciated as always.
