Quebec Trip
Thinking of Quebec Anyone have any info to share about St. Donat. I have never been, & want to be as educated as possible before we take off. (Sorry if this is not the correct forum!!!!)

I dont know much about the St Donat area my self Waitn4sno, I think a few of the guys on here run over that way once or twice a season. Also try out the Que forums on HCS you should be able to load up on info there.

Been in the area two years ago. Nice area but make sure you bring every lock and cable you have as your stuff is not safe unless secured!!!!! All the horror stories are true about Quebec theft. Make sure the hotel you stay at has a lock up and 24 hr guard. The Quebec snowmobile club has a list of approved resorts. For the best Quebec conditions check out Zenwaiter.com. There is no better site, anywhere for sled info in Quebec and the guy will return any email with useful info. We stayed in the Michele des Saints area and rode up thru the park when there was no snow at all here. There is was midwinter and the lakes were frozen stiff, like a different planet. I too have been monitoring conditions in that area as it seems it would be the first area to open after some snow, but they have had some warm weather and their base is now probably gone. It was around a 5.5 hr drive from the Whitby area. 35 bucks a day for the permit, available at most resorts.
