sled loading ramps
What do you know anything ,or have you ever used one of the sled loading ramps that Brian jewell makes? I was wondering if one would work in an avalanche with a renegade? The worst of both worlds ...short box ...long track :?

Stewy, Brian will probably have his display at the PPSC Openhouse this Sunday. Why don't you join us for lunch and ask him first hand!

Stewy- 10-24-2006

Heading up around 1:30 to pick up my trail pass ! That would be great if he had one there !

I can't say for sure if Brian's deck would work well in an Avalanche. I am confidant it would get the sled into the truck the same but his ramps work on a balance point and I don't know if it would be stable in there. I have an F150 super crew and I had visions of using one of those as well. What I came up with is a support that went out from my receiver in my hitch and went out past my tailgate and then up, when it was down, and would be a support equivalant to the end of an 8 ft box that would support it outside the truck. I have no idea whether the height of my ford from the receiver to the floor of the box is the same as your truck. I am trying to get out to the open house this Sunday and I can bring it for you. I will need to pick it up from my Dad's place in Seagrave, but I am sure Brian would let us try it and one of his ramps in your truck. Let me know, I would want about 50 bucks for the steel support. It is welded together from the same size tubing that fits in a class 3 hitch and painted a lovely Tremclad black. Let me know, might be the answer you are looking for.

Hey thanks redsled ! , I just moved from Seagrave last month ...was on river st. I might know your dad . If you get the chance bring it along ...I'll get there as soon as I can but weather permitting we have Family picture that morning . I'd bring the sled but its still at Dunfords ...he's up to his a$$ in sea-doo's right now and hasn't had time to pull out the sleds. The other thought is November at the peterborough show ...Brian was there last year.

I know Brian quite well and can leave it with him if you aren't around.

Good stuff !! Thanks again !

The worst of both worlds ...short box ...long track :? I have been using this ramp for 5 years. I have a full size truck box. It does it's job. As for an avalanche and a renegade there may be a problem I think.

Stewy- 10-29-2006

droped by the club house this morn and checked out the ramp.... no need for support , Brian has them tee'd up nice ! looks like it will work just fine in the avalanche . Can't wait to get it home load up and go !

resurrect an old topic...anyone got contact info for the ramps? Thinking about one for the new pick-em-up truck

TVBrian- 10-10-2007

Hey Gaiter... If you click over to our main site www.portperrysnowmobileclub.com and goto the executive page..... Brian Jewel is who you wanna talk to.

Me again , after buying one from Brian last year , getting it home and trying to load the sled .......thanks to Brian for letting me return the ramp as it will not work in the avalanche BUT worked fantastic in a regular crew cab truck !!!!!!
